Iceland's center-right ruling coalition failed to win a majority in the parliamentary elections even though one of its two partners took a strong lead, final results showed Sunday.

The Independence Party won 29 percent of the votes, securing 21 out of the 63 seats in the parliament, according to results published by Icelandic public broadcaster RUV. Endi
