Mazda to recall 24,799 vehicles over defective doors

Xinhua, October 28, 2016 Adjust font size:

Mazda will recall 24,799 Mazda6 sedans in China due to a fault with the rear doors, the country's top quality watchdog said here on Friday.

The affected vehicles were built between Oct. 12, 2009 and Dec. 23, 2015, according to a report filed to the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine.

The rear door latches may crack due to metal erosion, and in extreme cases could lead to injury of passengers, the administration said in a statement.

The recall will start from April 14, 2017 and Mazda dealers will change the defective parts for customers free of charge. Endi
