Xinhua, October 28, 2016 Adjust font size:

Saudi-led coalition announced on Thursday that its forces intercepted a missile towards Mecca from Yemen, Saudi Press Agency reported.

The missile was destroyed 65 km away from the holiest city in the world for Muslims, while no damages were reported.

The coalition said that the missile was shot from Sa'dah in Yemen by Houthis.

Houthis have been targeting Saudi-border cities since the beginning of the war in Yemen in March 2015 that led to the deaths of thousands of civilians from both countries. Endit
