300 domestic, foreign firms to take part in Vietnam's int'l agriculture trade fair

The 16th International Agriculture Trade Fair, or AgroViet 2016, will be held in Vietnam's capital Hanoi in November, drawing participation of some 300 firms.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD), the organizer, as many as 28 Vietnamese localities as well as domestic and international firms from China, Japan and South Korea have registered to join the event on Nov. 11-15.

Under the theme "Agricultural products with guaranteed quality and food safety," AgroViet with some 400 booths will showcase quality products of agriculture, forestry, fishery, handicraft as well as technological advances in agricultural production, said MARD at a press conference held here Thursday.

Vietnam's export value of agro-forestry-fishery products in the first ten months of 2016 is estimated to reach 26.4 billion U.S. dollars, a year-on-year increase of 6.3 percent, according to MARD. Enditem
