Albania's budget expenditures shrink in first nine months: statistics

Albanian state budget expenditure reduced by around 83.3 million U.S. dollars during the first nine months of 2016, compared to a year ago, data from the Albanian ministry of finance showed Wednesday.

Overall public expenditures in the first nine months, are estimated at around 287.5 billion leks (2.2 billion U.S. dollars) or 97.1 percent of the plan for this period.

Official data confirmed that although the budget revenues continued to improve, the situation in the budget expenditures was the opposite.

The budget expenses in first nine months fell by 3.6 percent than that in 2015, official data of finance minister showed. Expenditures dedicated to new municipalities were about 11 percent less than the plan.

The Albanian finance ministry said in a press release that during the nine months, in the management of budget expenditures, relevant organs have pursued a prudent policy aimed at cutting unnecessary expenses and increasing those on incentives to economy. Endit
