Ukraine's agricultural exports exceed 9 bln USD in January-August

Ukraine exported 9.1 billion U.S. dollars worth of agricultural products from January to August in 2016, up 2.9 percent from a year ago, the agriculture ministry said Wednesday.

In the first eight months of this year, agricultural products accounted for 40.1 percent of the country's total exports, according to the latest figures from the ministry.

During this period, Ukraine has exported 3.6 billion dollars worth of grains, 1.4 billion dollars worth of ready-to-eat products, 700 million dollars worth of seeds and oleaginous fruits, as well as 600 million dollars worth of food-industry waste.

Meanwhile, Ukraine has imported agricultural goods worth 2.5 billion dollars in the same period, mainly ready-to-eat products, foods of plant origin and fish. Endi
