Ukraine's industrial output up 2 pct in January-September

Xinhua, October 26, 2016 Adjust font size:

Ukraine's industrial production grew 2 percent year-on-year from January to September 2016, the State Statistics Service said Wednesday.

In the first nine months of this year, the output of Ukraine's processing industry rose by 3.5 percent from a year ago, while the output of the mining industry saw a decline of 0.6 percent, the statistics committee said in a report.

In September, the manufacturing output was up 4.4 percent from August, driven by the expansion of food and machine-building sectors.

In 2015, Ukraine's industrial production saw the sharpest decline in six years, plummeting by 13 percent on an annual basis. Endi
