Singapore stocks close 0.89 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 25.48 points, or 0.89 percent, to close at 2,828.57.

A total of 1.29 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 734 million Singapore dollars (529 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 243 to 154, while 501 others finished unchanged.

The STI index lost 2.63 points, or 0.09 percent, to close at 2,854.05 on Tuesday. Enditem
