Bulgaria seizes 26 kg of cocaine at border with Greece

Bulgarian law enforcement authorities at the Kulata checkpoint have seized 26 kg of cocaine coming from the country's border with Greece, officials said Tuesday.

The drug was found on Monday evening in two secret compartments in a truck carrying fitness equipment, the regional prosecutor's office said in a press release.

The 36-year-old driver of the vehicle was arrested at the scene.

The authorities said the value of the cocaine on the black market would exceed 2.8 million U.S. dollars.

Last Tuesday, Bulgarian customs at the Kalotina checkpoint near the country's border with Serbia have seized 23.7 kg of cocaine. Endit
