Long-awaited Heathrow airport expansion "approved": media

A British committee of ministers has approved the long-awaited expansion of Heathrow airport, local media quoted sources as saying.

The latest decision came after years of controversies over the project of the British airport. It was finalized at a cabinet committee meeting on Tuesday morning, according to BBC.

But the British government has yet to confirm the news.

British Transport Secretary Chris Grayling is expected to make a statement to the House of Commons in the afternoon. Endit
