Israeli air force hits Hamas post following rocket fire from Gaza

The Israeli air force struck a Hamas post in northern Gaza Strip on Monday in response to a rocket fired from the Palestinian enclave, army officials said.
Earlier Monday morning, a rocket launched from Gaza triggered sirens in Sha'ar Ha'negev, an Israeli community north of Gaza, according to a military statement.
However, the rocket failed to reach Israel, the statement read.
After the sirens, "Israel air force aircraft targeted a Hamas military post in the northern Gaza Strip," the statement said.
There were no immediate reports of injuries in the airstrike.
Israel concluded a 51-day military campaign in Gaza in the summer of 2014, which killed at least 2,251 Palestinians, mostly civilians, and 72 Israelis, mostly soldiers.
Since then, Gaza militants have occasionally fired rockets toward southern Israel, usually causing no damage or injuries, and Israel would respond with airstrikes. Endit
