Peru international striker Paolo Guerrero scored either side of halftime as Flamengo drew 2-2 with 10-man Corinthians in Brazil's Serie A championship on Sunday.

Midfielder Guilherme put Corinthians ahead in the 6th minute before Guerrero equalized nine minutes later for the hosts in front of a capacity crowd at the Maracana stadium.

Rodriguinho regained the lead for Corinthians on the stroke of halftime, but Guerrero squared the ledger just before the hour mark.

The visitors were reduced to 10 men in the 76th minute when Rodriguinho was shown a second yellow card for a bad foul. But Flamengo were unable to capitalize on the numerical advantage.

The Rio de Janeiro outfit remain second in the standings after the match with 61 points, six behind leaders Palmeiras. Defending champions Corinthians rise one spot to sixth with 49 points.
