Police at San Francisco, a city on the U.S. west coast, investigated a bomb threat involving a white car on Thursday and rendered the scene safe more than three hours later.

San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) initially posted messages on Twitter social network that its bomb squad was on the scene assisting the probe after receiving notification of a vehicle, and public is advised to shelter in place. (US-Bomb Threat)

SAN JOSE -- At least 12 people were killed and 15 others injured in Costa Rica on Thursday when a bus carrying 30 tourists fell off a 20-meter ditch.

Hector Chaves, director of Costa Rica's firefighters, told local media that the accident took place near the town of Cinchona in the province of Alajuela at around 9:00 a.m. local time.

Five men and seven women were killed, including the driver, according to daily newspaper Nacion. (Costa Rica-Accident)

DAMASCUS -- The Syrian army on Thursday accused Turkish airstrikes of killing 150 people in the countryside of the northern province of Aleppo a day earlier, state news agency SANA reported.

The general command of the Syrian army said the Turkish airstrikes on towns and villages in the northern countryside of Aleppo had targeted "innocent people" and constituted a "dangerous development that will further complicate the situation." (Syria-Accuse-Turkey)

ANKARA -- Two Turkish soldiers were killed and five others injured during clashes with the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants in the southeastern province of Hakkari on Thursday, Turkish General Staff said in a statement.
