Police probe bomb threat in San Francisco

Xinhua, October 21, 2016 Adjust font size:

Police at San Francisco, a city on the U.S. west coast, are investigating a bomb threat involving a white car near the Hall of Justice on Thursday.

San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) posted messages on Twitter social network that its bomb squad is on the scene assisting the probe after receiving notification of a vehicle, and the public is advised to shelter in place.

ABC7 News showed video footage of a robot that appeared to try to open the vehicle's trunk.

Located on 850/880 Bryant Street in the northeastern part of San Francisco, the Hall of Justice serves as SFPD's operational headquarters, the main San Francisco County Jail, as well as base of operations and headquarters for the San Francisco Sheriff's Department, and garage for the majority of vehicles for the SFPD.

The building was evacuated and court cancelled for the rest of the day. Endit
