Israeli troops' gunfire kills Palestinian in northern Hebron

Xinhua, October 20, 2016 Adjust font size:

Israeli soldiers opened fire and killed on Thursday a Palestinian young man in the northern part of the southern West Bank city of Hebron, medical sources said.

The Palestinian National Authority (PNA) health ministry told Xinhua that the killing was in the village of Beit Ommar, in northern Hebron.

Local sources in the village said that the young man fell on the floor and was bleeding for a long time after the shot, while the soldiers prevented Palestinian ambulances from reaching his body.

There has been no immediate Israeli response to the incident.

Since last October, a wave of tension has been flaring between Israel and the Palestinians, mainly in Jerusalem and the West Bank. Official figures said that 226 Palestinians and 40 Israelis were killed. Endit
