Five U.S. teenagers arrested for bomb threats in Arkansas

Xinhua, October 20, 2016 Adjust font size:

Five teenagers were arrested on Wednesday for involvement in making bomb threats earlier this week that forced the evacuation of two schools in Hot Springs, a city in the U.S. state of Arkansas.

The Hot Springs police said in a statement that they arrested two 16-year-old boys and three 13-year-old girls on Wednesday morning. They are each facing charges of communicating a false alarm, a class D felony.

Currently, the two boys are being held without bail, while the three girls are each jailed with a bail of 2,500 U.S. dollars at the juvenile detention center of Garland County in which Hot Springs is located.

The teens made five separate bomb threats to Hot Springs Middle School and Hot Springs High School on Monday, forcing the schools to be evacuated. The schools resumed normal operations later in the day. Endi
