Xinhua, October 20, 2016 Adjust font size:

Chinese President Xi Jinping told visiting Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte here on Thursday that China is ready to enhance cooperation with the Philippines under the framework of the Belt and Road initiative.

Xi urged both countries to integrate their development strategies in a comprehensive manner to seek mutual benefit and win-win results.

China is willing to actively participate in the Southeast Asian nation's infrastructure construction, covering railway, urban rail transit, highway, port and other areas, so as to benefit the Philippine people, according to Xi.

China is also ready to encourage Chinese businesses to invest more in the Philippines to help the country's economic growth, said the Chinese president.

Duterte is on a widely watched state visit to China from Tuesday to Friday. China trip is his first official visit to a foreign country outside ASEAN. Endi
