Xinhua, October 19, 2016 Adjust font size:

Iran's Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Ali Jannati and Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs Mahmoud Goudarzi have resigned, Tasnim news agency reported on Tuesday.

The two ministers have already submitted their resignation letters to Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, the informed source was quoted as saying.

The semi-official ISNA news agency also said that the resignation of ministers is pursuant to the imminent cabinet reshuffle by the Iranian president.

The four-year term for President Rouhani will be over in August 2017 and the next presidential elections in Iran will be held in May next year. Endit
