Singapore stocks close 0.48 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 13.56 points, or 0.48 percent, to close at 2,830.63.

A total of 1.58 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 902.3 million Singapore dollars (651.3 million U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered decliners 208 to 170, while 521 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 1.83 points, or 0.07 percent, to close at 2,817.07 on Monday. Enditem
