Lebanese soldier killed by suspected IS militants

A Lebanese army officer was killed late Sunday in a drive-by shooting by suspected Islamic State militants in the northeastern border town of Arsal, local media reported.

Two armed men on a motorcycle shot and killed Khaled Ezzedine, a first class sergeant, official National News Agency reported.

Local LBCI TV identified the two gunmen as Ahmed al-Hujeiri, a Lebanese citizen, and Alaa Kahil, a Syrian national, describing them as members of the Islamic State (IS) group. Endit
