The Cambodia's Ministry of Tourism on Saturday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on tourism development with Shanghai Spring International Travel Service Group.

The deal was inked between Cambodian tourism minister Thong Khon and Shanghai Spring International Travel Service Group's Chairman Wang Zhenghua under the presence of Cambodian deputy prime minister and cabinet minister Sok An and Chinese ambassador to Cambodia Xiong Bo.

"Under the MoU, the Chinese side will help promote more direct flights from Chinese cities to Cambodia, train tour guides, promote Cambodia's tourism potential, and develop tourist products at tourism destinations in Cambodia," Thong Khon said.

He said the deal would contribute to helping Cambodia to attract some 2 million Chinese tourists by 2020 from some 700,000 Chinese tourists last year.

Wang Zhenghua said the company would do its best to assist Cambodia to develop tourism industry.

"This cooperation will contribute to deepening the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between China and Cambodia," he said. Endit
