The United States announced Friday it would further lift sanctions on Cuba to facilitate trade as well as scientific and humanitarian exchanges between the two countries.

SEOUL -- One worker was killed and five others injured in a South Korean explosion incident that happened in the country's southeastern city of Ulsan, Yonhap news agency reported on Friday.

NEW DELHI -- At least 15 people were killed and over 15 others injured when a private bus plunged into a gorge in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh Friday, a senior police official said.
"The mishap took place near Namli town in the state's Ratlam district when the bus carrying 40 passengers fell into the water body after the driver lost control of the speeding vehicle," he said, on condition of anonymity. (India-Bus Accident)

ISLAMABAD -- Three security personnel were killed in firing by unknown gunmen in Quetta city in southwest Pakistan on Friday, local Urdu media reported.

GENEVA -- The World Health Organization (WHO) said Friday that 477 suspected cases of cholera have been recorded in Haiti's Grand'Anse and South departments over the past four days.
