Whirlwind damages nearly 200 houses in western Indonesia

Around 200 houses have been destroyed by whirlwinds in Pangandaran district of West Java province in western parts of Indonesia, but no casualty is reported, spokesman of disaster agency said on Thursday.

The natural disaster took place in Astamaya and Bojong Salawe villages at 14 : 00 p.m. Jakarta time on Wednesday, Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, spokesman of national disaster agency told Xinhua via phone.

The spokesman said that the winds damaged 172 houses in both villages.

Nearly 200 people were affected by the disaster. Endit
