Singapore stocks close 0.29 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Thursday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 8.23 points, or 0.29 percent, to close at 2,805.48.

A total of 1.97 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1.26 billion Singapore dollars (912 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 283 to 123, while 494 others finished unchanged.

The STI index lost 42.42 points, or 1.49 percent, to close at 2,813.71 on Wednesday. Enditem
