Nearly 1,600 cases of fighting among grade students have happened inside and outside schools in Vietnam since the school year of 2009-2010, local media on Thursday quoted statistics from the Ministry of Education and Training as reporting.

Among the fighting cases, many involved in using self-made weapons such as swords and guns to injure schoolmates or classmates for childish reasons, including unpleasant stare at each other and prevention of exam cheating, daily newspaper Tuoi Tre Thanh Pho Ho Chi Minh (Ho Chi Minh City Youth) reported.

In some cases, many grade students simultaneously fought one schoolmate or classmate, made video clips of the fighting and released them on social media.

The newspaper also quoted statistics from the Health Ministry as reporting that among 1.2-1.4 million cases of abortion in Vietnam every year, 120,000 are juveniles. Some 400 girls aged 11-18 undergo abortion at Tu Du Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City each year. Enditem
