A Chinese Islamic calligrapher received Dubai Islamic Economy Award here on Tuesday "in recognition of his valuable contribution toward the development of the global Islamic economy."

Haji Noor Deen Mi Guangjiang, an expert in Chinese style Islamic calligraphy and a native of China's Shandong province, teaches at an Islamic college in Zhengzhou, the capital city of Henan province in China.

The award was conferred by Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Al-Maktoum on the opening day of the 3rd Global Islamic Economy Summit.

The Islamic Economy Award, launched in 2013, recognizes innovative world-class business initiatives and ideas that are Shariah-compliant and contribute to social and economic welfare of the Muslim population while also fostering "prosperity, harmony, and well-being for all." Endit
