Ten cultural and environmental projects are to benefit from a total of 50 million euros (55.6 million U.S. dollars) made available to Malta by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) for 2014-2020, according an announcement issued by the Maltese government Monday.

Maltese Deputy Prime Minister Louis Grech said the approved projects included rehabilitation and restoration of the Grandmasters' Palace, the conversion of Auberge D'Italie into the new national fine arts museum, and the restoration of the Notarial Archives.

Grech said that the government's vision is to invest in a focused and balanced way in the country's economic, environmental, social and cultural development.
