Egypt condemns terrorist attack in Turkey

Xinhua, October 10, 2016 Adjust font size:

Egypt on Monday condemned a terrorist attack in Turkey that killed at least 18 people and wounded dozens of others.

Ten soldiers and eight civilians were killed on Sunday in a car bomb attack blamed on militants of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party at a military post in Turkey's southeastern province of Hakkari.

The PKK is listed as a terror organization by the United States, the European Union and Turkey.

The Egyptian people stand by the side of the Turkish people in the face of terrorism, Egypt's Foreign Ministry spokesman said in a statement.

Egypt condemns terrorist and criminal acts that harm citizens and create havoc, he said.

He condoled with the bereaved families and wished the wounded a speedy recovery. Endit
