An Iranian energy official said here Sunday that talks are underway with some German companies to invest in Iran's petrochemical projects, Iran's Petro-Energy Information Network (SHANA) reported.
Managing Director of Iran's National Petrochemical Company (NPC) Marzieh Shahdaie referred to the recent visit of German Minister of Economy, Sigmar Gabriel, to Iran and said that talks were held with German officials for the ways of German companies' engagement in Iranian petrochemical industry.
Shahdaie said German companies including BASF Group, Linde Group and Air Liquide as well as several other companies are finalizing types of contribution to and investment in Iranian petrochemical projects.
She emphasized that technical problems are not the cause of foreign companies' absence in Iran's energy projects, rather certain banking problems, including money transfer, are the bottlenecks which are hoped to be settled soon. Endit
