12th Festival of Lights in Berlin kicks off

Berlin turns into a city of light art with the opening of its 12th Festival of Lights on Friday.

Landmarks in the capital city of Germany including Brandenburg Gate, Berlin Cathedral, Berlin Television Tower are decorated with light installations, welcoming hundreds of thousands of visitors from home and abroad.

Many activities under the theme of light such as photo award, bus tour, multimedia show will also be held during the festival.

Festival of Lights in Berlin is one of the best known in the world, once attracting 2 million visitors in 2014. This year's event will take place from Oct. 7 to 16. Endit
