Typhoon Aere to bring rainstorm to south China

Xinhua, October 7, 2016 Adjust font size:

Typhoon Aere, the 19th to hit China this year, will likely bring heavy rain to the southern province of Guangdong, the local meteorological authority said Friday.

Aere grew from a tropical storm into a typhoon Thursday morning, and is heading for China from the Philippines, according to the provincial flood control and drought relief headquarters.

The typhoon will move westward across the South China Sea from Thursday to Saturday, and will be in Guangdong, especially the southern and eastern parts of the province, until early next week.

Aere's route is hard to predict, and the flood control and drought relief headquarters warned local governments to take measures and ensure people's safety. Endi
