Marriot Hotel officially opens doors in Rwanda

The Marriot International hotel chain has formally unveiled its branch in Rwandan capital Kigali in a ceremony held late Tuesday at Kigali Marriott Hotel in the heart of the city.

Speaking at the event, Anastase Murekezi, Rwanda Prime minister hailed Marriot Hotel for being the world's largest hotel chain to open its doors in the Rwandan market.

"Rwanda is very open for both local and foreign investments. The government of Rwanda thanks Marriot Hotel for investing in our country and looks forward for more investments in other sectors of the economy," he added.

Murekezi noted that facilities such as the Hotel bring along various benefits for both the investor and the country.

In an interview with Xinhua during the launch of Kigali Marriott Hotel, Billy Cheung Yiu Tung , Group Chairman and CEO of Master Assets Investments Ltd, who is also proprietor of Kigali Marriott Hotel, said that Rwanda' conducive business environment has attracted big companies to invest in the country.
