British FTSE 100 rises 1.30 pct on Tuesday

The FTSE 100 Index, Britain's benchmark stock market gauge, rose by 1.30 percent, or 90.82 points, to 7,074.34 points on Tuesday.

The share price of Provident Financial spiked by 6.68 percent, topping the gainers of the blue chips. Intertek Group, Pearson, Standard Life and Rolls-Royce Holdings shot up by 5.22 percent, 5.18 percent, 3.22 percent and 3.12 percent respectively.

Randgold Resources led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 5.91 percent, following by Fresnillo (5.64 percent), Polymetal International (4.48 percent), easyJet (1.59 percent) and Mediclinic International (1.19 percent). Endit
