Ukraine's foreign reserves increase by 9.9 pct in September

Xinhua, October 5, 2016 Adjust font size:

Ukraine's foreign exchange reserves increased by 9.9 percent in September to 15.5 billion U.S. dollars, local media reported Tuesday, citing data from the country's central bank.

The rise was attributed to obtaining the aid from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the United States.

Last month, Ukraine has received 1 billion dollars as the third tranche of the IMF's 17.5-billion-dollar bailout loan and raised another billion dollars by issuing Eurobonds guaranteed by the U.S. government.

According to Ukraine's central bank projection, the country's foreign reserves may stand at 17.2 billion dollars at the end of this year compared with 13.3 billion dollars in 2015. Endit
