The Albanian government is determined to start constructing Arber road between Albania and Macedonia in the spring of 2017, Albanian Transport Minister Sokol Dervishaj told Macedonian minister for foreign investors Arlind Zeqiri during a meeting here Tuesday.

The two ministers stressed that more had to be done on infrastructure projects in order to increase trade exchanges between the two countries, the Albanian transport ministry said.

The Albanian minister considered the Arber road as a very important road artery which strengthens the connection between Albania and Macedonia as well as with regional corridors, the same sources said.

During the meeting, the two ministers also discussed the establishment of a joint working group at the technical level in order to coordinate work on the rail link between the two countries.

On his part, Zeqiri said several Macedonian companies had expressed interest in investing in the Albanian coast. Endit
