Nigeria's senior football team opened camp on Tuesday to tune up for the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Zambia.
Nigeria and Zambia will play their first Group B match on Sunday. The match will be played at the Levy Nwanawasa Stadium in Ndola, the third largest city in Zambia.
German Gernot Rohr, coach of the Nigerian team also known as Super Eagles, told Xinhua his players would train twice daily ahead of the crucial encounter with the Chipolopolo of Zambia.
He said the Nigerian team has a good training condition and only few players, among 23 called to camp, are yet to arrive for training.
"We will be going to Zambia to win the game. We know to have our three points will be difficult. We know it," the coach said while fielding questions from journalists at Nigeria's National Stadium in Abuja.
Both countries have met 12 times in competitive matches, with Nigeria winning five, losing three and playing four draws.
Rohr said the Super Eagles will be very effective when they play against the Zambians on Sunday. Endit
