Singapore stocks close 0.48 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 13.8 points, or 0.48 percent, to close at 2,884.64.

A total of 1.48 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 765.7 million Singapore dollars (559.3 million U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered decliners 222 to 128, while 556 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 1.37 points, or 0.05 percent, to close at 2,870.84 on Monday. Endit
