Dalian's tie brings Changchun hope of title

Xinhua, October 3, 2016 Adjust font size:

Top-ranked Dalian was held 0-0 at home by Jiangsu in the Chinese Women's Super League (CWSL) on Sunday, giving Shanghai and Changchun hopes to vie for the title.

The pressure of winning the title led to a poor performance by Dalian's key players including Wu Chengshu, whose long shot in the 14th minute and second attempt at the 72nd minutes were both denied by the woodwork.

Changchun, ranked third and six points off Dalian, tied with Shandong 1-1. Shandong scored an own goal in the 16th minute and equalized through Li Ying in the 51st minute.

Second-ranked Shanghai suffered a shock loss to Tianjin but still has chance for the title.

Beijing claimed its fourth straight win, beating Bayi 5-1. Endite
