Mongolia's Munkhtulga wins stage 1 in N. China international cycling race

Mongolia's Erdenesuren Munkhtulga, riding for Ningxia LIVALL continental team, won the first stage of a two-day international cycling race in north China's Hebei Province on Wednesday.

Munkhtulga finished the 138-kilometer stage in 2 hours 54 minutes 13 seconds, two seconds ahead of Fedorov Ruslan of the Uzbekistan Taskent team.

The third place went to Vasilyev Maksym of Ukraine's Kloss BDC continental team, who clocked 2:54:17.

Some 200 professional cyclists from Europe and Asia along with 400 amateur cyclists entered the two-day race for 270,000 RMB (about 45,500 U.S. dollars) in prize money.

For the professional group, the second stage will feature a 134.6-kilometer race including two sections on mountain roads. Endit
