Israeli forces arrested a member of Palestinian parliament from the Islamic Hamas movement in the occupied West Bank on Wednesday, according to Palestinian sources.
The sources told Xinhua that Israeli forces stormed into 59-year-old Mohammad Al-Natshah's home in Hebron, searched the house, and arrested him.
Al-Natshah was released from Israeli jails seven months ago after serving three years under administrative detention. Before that, he was previously imprisoned intermittently for 18 months.
Administrative detention is a measure Israeli authorities use in detaining prisoners without charges or access to a trial, based on secret information inaccessible to detainees and lawyers, for periods of six months, which can be renewed indefinitely.
According to Palestinian rights groups, at least six Palestinian parliament members are in Israeli jails, including four members from the Hamas movement, one from the Fatah movement and another from the Popular Front for Liberation of Palestine.
On Tuesday evening, the Israeli military arrested 19 Palestinians and shut down a weapons manufacturing workshop in the West Bank, Israeli public radio reported. Endit
