China commemorates former military leader Liu Huaqing

Chinese President Xi Jinping on Wednesday called for more efforts to promote the glorious tradition of revolutionary martyrs and learn from the spirit of Liu Huaqing, former vice chairman of the Central Military Commission.

Xi made the remarks at a symposium held in Beijing to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Liu, who died of illness on Jan. 14, 2011 at age 95. Endi
