WASHINGTON -- U.S. President Barack Obama on Tuesday nominated Jeffrey DeLaurentis as the first U.S. Ambassador to Cuba in over 50 years.

KIEV -- The death toll in spurious liquor poisoning case in eastern Ukraine rose to 28 after 17 other people died in hospitals over the past few days, the State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection said Tuesday.

KHARTOUM -- Two engineers working for an oil company were shot dead on Tuesday by unidentified gunmen at an oil field in Sudan's West Kordofan State, Sudan tribune reported.
