IS militant killed by Lebanese army

The Lebanese army said Tuesday that its units killed an Islamic State (IS) group militant in an exchange of gunfire in the northern region of Akkar.

Moustafa Mohammed al-Ahmed, who opened gunfire at the army troops when they were trying to arrest him for belonging to the IS group, was shot dead when the army fired back, the Army Guidance Directorate said in a statement.

Ahmad was reportedly operating in the northeastern region of Lebanon for IS. Endit
