The following are news highlights in Zambia's major media outlets on Sunday.

-- The Chinese government has accepted proposals from the Zambian government to expand a hospital in Lusaka, the country's capital.

Consular for economic and commercial affairs at the Chinese embassy said his government has agreed to expand the Levy Mwanawasa General Hospital, the second biggest hospital in the city. The hospital was built with the assistance of the Chinese government and named after late Zambian President Levy Mwanawasa. (Zambia Daily Mail)

-- The Zambian government has assured mining firms of policy predictability and consistency as it works out measures to stabilize the economy amid turbulence in the global economy.

Minister of Finance Felix Mutati said policy consistency and stakeholder consultations would be key going forward, adding that the government would endeavor to collaborate with players in the industry. (Daily Nation)

-- Zambia's representatives in the Confederation of African Football Champions League failed to reach the finals of the tournament after losing to South Africa's Mamelodi Sundowns.
