Benin, Rwanda launch Cotonou-Kigali flight service

Xinhua, September 25, 2016 Adjust font size:

Benin and Rwanda authorities on Saturday formally inaugurated here a flight service that will connect Benin's economic capital Cotonou with Rwanda's capital Kigali.

"Through this quite simple ceremony, we have officially launched the flight that from now onward links the capitals of our two countries", Jean Paul Nyirubutama, CEO of the Rwanda airline company RwandAir, said.

"Our national airline RwandAir will serve three times per week, with stopovers in Douala in Cameroon and Libreville in Gabon," he said.

The air service between Cotonou and Kigali is the result of a bilateral agreement reached on March 23 this year by the two countries.

Jean Paul Nyirubutama believes the air service will strengthen ties between Benin and Rwanda peoples as well as enhance the economic exchanges between the two countries. Endit
