A pedestrian bridge collapsed in southern part of Jakarta on Saturday, leaving 3 people dead and 3 others wounded, a police spokesman said.

Strong wind was blamed for the collapse of the public facility, Jakarta police spokesman Awi Setiyoo told Xinhua via phone.

The collapsed bridge also hit three cars which were passing below it, he said.

All the victims have been rushed to a nearby hospital, according to the spokesman. Endit
