The following are news highlights in Zambia's major media outlets on Saturday.

-- The World Food Program (WFP) has thanked the Zambian government for granting the United Nations (UN) agency an exemption to export maize for use in its humanitarian operations.

WFP Executive Director Ertharin Cousin commended Zambia for the move and urged the government to urgently accelerate and streamline maize export procedures for the organization's humanitarian operations due to the increasing severity of the El Nino drought crisis. (Zambia Daily Mail)

-- Zambian President Edgar Lungu said the main opposition party was free to take its grievances over last month's disputed general elections to the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Lungu said the United Party for National Development (UPND) was justified to go anywhere to seek redress as long as it is within the law. (Times of Zambia)

-- The European Union has given Zambia 6 million Euros to help its road safety agency build capacity to curb road traffic accidents.
