Malta to host informal summit to discuss EU's future

Malta will host an informal summit of European leaders on February 3 next year to discuss the future of the EU, according to a statement issued by Malta's government on Thursday.

The discussion on the direction of the EU came after the meeting last week in Bratislava.

At the summit in Malta, EU leaders will decide how to realize the European ideal of a single market to create jobs and the social element that provides better life.

European Council President Donald Tusk said during a meeting with Malta's prime minister earlier this month that Malta was the best country to take on the responsibility which pushed forward the new European agenda at a time of reflection. Endit
