China Southern Airlines has launched an air route linking Moscow and Lanzhou, capital of northwest China's Gansu Province.

The flight operates every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. It departs from Lanzhou at 3:10 p.m. (Beijing Time) and makes a stop in Urumqi, capital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, before landing in Moscow at 8:10 p.m. local time.

The maiden flight left Lanzhou for Moscow on Thursday.

It is the third intercontinental air route for Lanzhou and is expected to enhance the city's business exchanges with Europe and contribute to the development of the Belt and Road Initiative.

More international flights will be launched in the future, according to Lanzhou's airport authorities. Endi
