Chinese company JSTI bought the Spanish engineering firm Eptisa for an initial investment of 36 million euros (40.15 million US dollars), JSTI CEO Wang Junhua confirmed to Xinhua on Wednesday.

He said that JSTI would increase the investment in the Spanish company in the following two or four years, bringing the total amount of investment to 46 million euros. (Spain-China-Acquisition)

WASHINGTON -- The inclusion of the Chinese currency, Renminbi, in the Special Drawing Right (SDR) basket by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is an important milestone for the international monetary system, said a senior IMF official on Wednesday.

The preparations for the inclusion work continue on track, said Siddharth Tiwari, director of the strategy, policy and review department of the IMF, at a press conference on the preparations of the new SDR basket. (China-IMF-Currency)

OTTAWA -- Chinese Premier Li Keqiang arrived in Ottawa on Wednesday for an official visit to Canada to continue discussions about how to deepen bilateral relations.

UNITED NATIONS -- China is willing to strengthen coordination and cooperation with Venezuela on international affairs, said Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi here on Wednesday.

LONDON -- A total of 52 universities from Chinese mainland are included in the 13th edition of World University Rankings published on Wednesday, with Peking University and Tsinghua University ranking 29th and 35th respectively.
